Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Table for Zen Pinball – Game Review

Before Zen Pinball, the last addictive pinball video game I played was Pinball for the NES.  Zen Pinball is very addictive by itself; however, it seems that Zen Studios wants to keep me addicted to this game by releasing excellent add-ons, first the Street Fighter table and now the Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 table.

The Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 table is beautifully decorated with all the flashing lights, platforms, metal guides, secrets and sound effects that any respected pinball table should have.  Ninja Gaiden fans should feel right at home right from the get go.  The table sets the player in Tokyo like city with numerous buildings in the background, and most notoriously, a big red pagoda.  The table also features images of Ninja Gaiden characters Ayane, Rachel, Momiji and Ryu Hayabusa. Towards the top, a model of Genshin, Master of the Black Spider Clan, stands with a menacing pose, and right across, his nemesis (and our hero) Ryu with his blade held high up ready to strike.   Both of these characters come to life by hitting the right targets.

Just quickly glancing at the Rule Sheet, you can see that there are 13 quests or targets that trigger effects (making the red pagoda burn was my favorite).  In addition, there are four new trophies waiting to be unlocked.  The gameplay is excellent, Zen Pinball has realistic physics, and easy controls (R1/L1 for the flippers , X to shoot the ball and to nudge the table).  As any other of the Zen Pinball's tables, the Ninja Gaiden table is challenging and fun to play.  This affordable addition will surely keep pinball and Ninja Gaiden fans entertained.
